What To Buy Yourself For Mother’s Day

Written by Sally

Confession – I cannae juggle for toffee.

I was planning on doing a lovely Mother’s Day gift guide & competition but the real life of a working mum got in the way.

Ms 5 yr old surgery and 2 consecutive worktrips to Sydney with a Gold Coast shoe-in in the space of as many weeks.

Result – some balls got dropped and I chose this.

In fact, I don’t know about you but Mother’s Day is a not a big deal in my house.

This year I have to fly out to Sydney which is a shame, but usually my life does not equate to the dreamy fantasy feed life of IG mummy bloggers – in fact if I get a bit of a sleep-in (ie past 6am) breakfast in bed, some home-made cards,  some perfume and a lot of hugs then I am totally winning.

The reality is by 9am I could easily be back folding laundry.

My mother is a domestic goddess, hostest with the mostest and entertainer and usually offers to host Mother’s Day – which I remind her is not really giving her a break, but it is a welcome excuse for us to put on frocks, use the linen napkins, namecards & heirloom silver cutlery, have a laugh and some champers. I am very grateful that I see my Mama a lot more now that we live in Brisbane – it is one of the joys of my move from Sydney.

So although this is not in time for someone  else to buy you – I felt like it was worth sharing – because it’s Friday and why don’t you

Treat Yourself  to one of these 4  brilliant gifts and make everyday bloody Mother’s Day.
