How to Wear Blouses and Where to Buy

Written by Sally

I started #SpotMyStyle – a little #realstreetstyle community of inspo on Instagram  last week to highlight the amazing creativity and individuality I see everyday shopping, at the chemists, school dropoffs, evening evente, doctor’s surgery and on my instagram feed around the suburbs of the world from women of all shapes, sizes and ages.

I wanted to highlight some of these amazing women I notice and inspire women of all ages, shapes and sizes to express themselves and live out a few of my 2016 Personal Styling client mantras.

Dare More, Care Less – don’t worry what anyone will say or think – wear something that makes you feel happy and alive. #daremorecareless

Individuality is always on trend – you don’t need to be buying new things to have style – show and express yourself no matter how old you are or how long you have had the pieces. #individualityisalwaysontrend

Live your Life in Full Colour – don’t be afraid to add some colour and joy into your everyday clothes  – don’t wait to express your creativity. #liveyourlifeinfullcolour.

This week’s Shop & Style post evolved from what I noticed on the community – organically – which I love.

2016 is definitely the year of the Blouse – whether you like it lacey, ruffled, bell sleeve or vintage – a statement blouse can take ordinary outfits to another level.

This season as well as wearing hoops with pearls (haha) .. I have been breaking out Vintage Ruffle blouses under dungarees

#SpotMyStyle My Top 5 this week

Real StreetStyle Roundup

1. Drop Shoulder Date Night

@mummaaintmumsy  is effortlessly stylish in this outfit – loving the pop of red in the Zara shoe booties and the bag but it is the custom made drop shoulder linen blouse from Australian designer @ilongginou that takes the look to another level.

Sarah is one of my favourite people whom I’ve met on IG ,  a killer stylist and a beautiful person whom I am honoured to now call a friend.

2. Lilac Ruffles and Leather

@hollyyolivia from the UK gives her offduty jeans  a girly twist with this stunning high neck lilac ruffle blouse ( limited sizes left but buy here  at Asos), baker boy hat and leather jacket. Effortless cool.

3. Stripetastic Boho

We all know nautical stripes are timeless but I am loving icurvy’s bold choice and her Sebastian mustard vertical striped blouse from the Bohemian Curve range.

Vertical stripes are a flattering way to break out from the Breton this season. And 2016 is all about the blouse which icurvy has given a Boho vibe with the grey floppy hat. Love it !

Buy it here $119 at Bohemian Traders
– up to  size 20

4. Blue Sleeve Dream

If you are not already following @journeyofastylist from Belgium  then do it now – Greet is more creative with colour than anyone I have seen in a long long time. She is daring and if you are lucky to live nearby she can help you out with your own Personal Style. Love how she rocks this cornflower blue ruffle blouse with red culottes – one of my IG icons for women of any age. x

Love her wave ruffle sleeve blouse ? it’s from H&M but I cannot see it instore here – you can buy this similar one  to get the look.

5. Printed Perfection

I am a big fan of a cute printed blouse or shirt and by the looks of her IG @lucyblakeley is too – check her out for some of her great looks that are so bang on trend with a cute vintage twist.

Love her individual style.

Great places to look for similar pieces are Modcloth, Asos and do a search for the print you like eg ” Cat print” on polyvore. Here is a similar umbrella print shirt if you love her look.
