I love when I get an invite to go out – love it.
Give me any excuse to frock up and I am there.
But I am a low maintenance type of gal – even before kids I was not someone to spend hours planning outfits or getting ready whether it would be hair and makeup.
Before kids I was a 1 hr max type of girl.
Now I am a 15 mins tag team with the husband and putting on a whip of lipstick and mascara in the carpark when i get there type of girl. Reality bites.
When I am working with clients one of the things that is apparent is that a lot of people struggle with event wear and time but the best way to approach it is build your closet full of some “easy, no brainer, showstopping, conversation starting but flattering, don’t have to wear shape wear can chuck it on in a second and feel fabulous” type of dresses that can easily be changed around depending on the accessories.
This is one of them.
And no it is not Ellery …
Stunning – sleeves- off the shoulder is very flattering for lots of shapes – great length.
Off shoulder midi flare sleeve dress
Sportsgirl – (don’t faint)
XXS – L $119.95
You could easily wear black heels you already have but I love these on-trend Gucci-esque
Gold mules for a bit of fun.
Gold Riot mules
35 -42 $125
I like this simple black patent clutch to avoid taking away from the showstopping sleeves – this is one you will love for a long time. Timeless and chic.
Black Patent Clutch
You could easily go earring free with this – or go for a giant pearl hoop, simple double pearl, geometric drop or large byzantine statement depending on your personal style. I like these simple but statement drops.
House of Harlow
$47 (on sale)
I love a bold colour – this is Mac Russian Red but personally I would go more pinky and I love women who can get away with dark plum colours. Whatever works for you go bold and dramatic. Therefore keep the rest of your makeup subtle. Go to your nearest dept and get Mac to try different colours on. Dare more Care Less and try something new.
In terms of other jewellry I would avoid bracelets or cuffs and maybe just go with your usual rings.
I love this pared back to really give the dress some space to breathe.
In terms of nail colour – I love matching hand and toe but you could go black or charcoal metallic.
have a great time !
