The inaugural Brisbane Fashion Weekend has come to a close and what a weekend it was!
Held on October 22nd & 23rd at the Royal International Convention Centre, Bowen Hills, over 2000 visitors to Brisbane Fashion Weekend were able to shop from 40+ gorgeous brands and labels in the Pop-Up Precinct, not to mention the opportunity to see 13 beautiful designers featured on The Runway.
I got to spend two days on stage with some of my favourite people and talented stylists including my The Friday Collective gal pals Cate Massi @individualstyle101 and @whattheteacherwears Alex Paterson and talk all things style, self love, real style tips and a whole lot of body positivity.
Loved speaking to all the pop-up owners, some designers and highlighting the incredible pieces from Thousand Island Dressing, The White Owl Boutique, SFH Designs, Meredith McMaster Millinery, Wilde Willow, Kahlo Kahlo, Atarlo and the QUT Fashion Accelerator program.
Also a major highlights were Stylist Hub sessions shared with Sara Hatton-Masterson from @style_designco – one of Westfield’s most well-respected and experienced stylists with Cate Massi again @individualstyle101 and listening to the Queen of Racewear style – stylist Laura Churchill -Stead as well as some inspiring young gun style, fashion & blogger friends Aicha Robertson @thefashionheist Stacey O’Keefe from media sponsor @FashionWeeklyMag and Emily from @Corporatecatwalker.
Plus I got to sit and have a great chat on stage with shoe designer Nic from Arczyk and Kate from Sunsoaked about what has made them able to take a bright idea 4 years ago to become a successful reality, on the runway and inspires just a few short years later – inspiring stuff indeed
It was great at the end of our sessions to sit and chat with new and old friends about the event over some champers and incredible antipasto platters at the fabulous Moët Lounge , not to mention enjoying a mini-treatment in the Pamper Room thanks to Dana at INGLOT Cosmetics with my $10 fee going to local charity Suited To Success.
Although we were kept busy at The Stylist Hub I managed to see the 13 show-stopping labels appearing on The Runway, styled by the incomparable Kimberly Gardner, with hair by Affinage team including IXIAH, Tengdahl, Saylor & Saige, LouenHide, Adrift, 400 Co, Kahlo Kahlo, Pink Punk Swim & Active, SunSoaked, Wilde Willow, ar-czyk, Nat-Sui and Oki & Oro.
Huge thanks and congratulations to Jason and his team from Major League events and big thanks to all the sponsors for supporting such an important and fantastic initiative.
See you next year !
