My 6 Holiday Essential Beauty Products

Written by Sally

Anyone who follows me on Insta or reads the blog knows I am a lo-fi gal when it comes to beauty products and treatments.

I am more about beauty from the inside so I eat as well as I can and cram as much veggies, oily fish, seeds and water into my day as possible with the odd bag of Kettle’s crisps on the side ;)

I meditate daily and move my body doing exercise I love – pilates, zumba, yoga, walking the dog, boogie boarding, surfing, scootering and biking with the kids.

You can read my morning routine here if you want.

In terms of beauty maintenance during the year I am all about decisions that make my busy working mama life with kids easy – so I get my eyebrows (and sometimes mama moustache) waxed & eyelashes tinted when I am getting my colour on at my hairdresser.

The only makeup I really wear is BB cream, mascara & lipstick.

And when we go on holiday I travel super light and don’t wear any makeup, bar a pop of lipstick if I feel a bit fancy.

These are the 6 things I take in my washbag apart from toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, shampoo, conditioner, hairbrush and body brush.

NIP & FAB -Glycolic Fix Pads $29.95 These pads are brilliant for travel, keeping in the car or doing express cleaning to make sure you are not neglecting your skin because of laziness or time or space in luggage. I started using them camping and my skin broke out a bit at first – probably because it was covered with sea, sand, sweat and the glycolic acid was giving it a good clean – but now I use everyday  often after the gym and my skin is bright and smoother – no doubt. Plus an Aussie company ! LOVE :)

Australian Bush Flowers LOVE body moisturiser- $19.95
This is an international award winning product series and I was looking for a new moisturiser that was kind to my skin. I loved the idea of the bush flower essences and the fact these products are organic and help your emotions at the same time.  I tried their sampler pack first – loved it – now I always have this moisturiser in my travel bag for face and body and have added their Uplifting Body Lotion , Face Wash Serum.Another Aussie winner !

Le Tan – 50 SPF Daily Face  – $7

I wear 50 SPF sunscreen on my face every day.

UV exposure is the #1 reason for premature ageing as well as  for 96-99% of life- threatening melanoma cases. I want to look after the skin I am in and be a good role model to my girls so I make sure I am sun smart everyday and on the beach I choose sunsafe chic label SunSoaked. This product also gives a wee bit of a tinted tan and a hint of BB cream coverage.  Usually I use Clarins 50SPF but this is a brilliant multitasker for holiday packing.

EVO – Love Perpetua  Shine Drops – $20.89Love EVO products and so does my hair. These are great to just have a bit of product to tame the do and combat the salt from the sea. Gives my hair a touch more sleekness beachside. And it lasts for ages as you do only need a couple of drops.  Bonus dinky packaging for minimalist packing. LOVE. :)

REVLON Ultra HD Matte – $24.95 I wear lipstick most days and I like matte long wearing ones – Maybelline have stopped making the best lipstick in the world and I did not stock up enough on my favourite Eternal Rose colour  :( This one from Revlon is pretty damn good and a great colour & velvety texture. I now have a few of these and their lip applicator makes it really easy to apply on the run.

Eau Dynamisante Clarins – 100ml $52.41This is one of my favourite day scents – like a body spray but also a light fresh fragrance – I also layer up with the shower gel, body lotion etc from the same line at home. I have friends who live overseas who say when they smell this they think of me. Santa always brings me more in my stocking.
On holiday like the lipstick this is all I need to feel a bit spesh. A beauty staple – I will cry if they ever discontinue this.

The wet bag is also a staple in my holiday wardrobe – brilliant for those cossies – this one is from Project Ten – a great Aussie brand.

What are your must-haves in your beauty bag ?

Do you travel light too ?
